Circa early 1990s. The buzz around a young Michael Jordan was continuously growing, as his third signature shoe was making it’s way on every asphalt and hard wood court in the nation. One of the originators of swagger with insurmountable confidence with a basketball in his hands, the feats #23 would perform on the court were already being described as other worldly. A marketing campaign was even built to explain that if he was in fact human, the the only explanation was that it had to be the shoes. Decades later, the slogans from that campaign still ring on almost as synonymous with the man as the sneakers themselves. But more than that, the characters involved became a part of multiple cultures and genres, from hip hop, to sneaker heads, to basketball aficionados. Even we at Buddha had to pay our respects, and tribute The Best On Earth and The Best On Mars. Stay tuned. Product drops before you know it.

Basketball. Please come back soon. These teaser commercials and street ball style pickup games in front of nine thousand fans just isn’t the business. So much to look forward to - dethroning the Mavericks, HEAT Against the World Season II, the continuous improvement of Rose and Durant, Blake Griffin’s sophomore season, Mark Jackson running things in the Bay, the Mike Jones Era in L.A., Melo and Amare back in MSG, and basketball at its finest. Please don’t force last year’s MVP to spend 2012 running around dodging Tito Santana.

A ton of hype surrounds the December 23rd release of the Concordes, but just a couple months later and just a few days past Valentine’s Day, Nike is releasing the Air Jordan Cement 4s. Made legendary on film by this scene in the Spike Lee joint, Do The Right Thing, the Cement 4s are arguably the illest colorway of one of the most favored edition of Jordans.
